All Practicing Advocates Enrolled With Bar Council Of Delhi Can Register For Chief Minister Advocates’ Welfare Scheme

 

As per notice dated 23.06.2023, “All the practicing advocates who are enrolled with Bar Council of Delhi and who also are an elector of NCT of Delhi are hereby informed that the process of 2nd fresh registration for the year 2023 under Chief Minister Advocates’ Welfare Scheme for availing benefits of Group (Term) Life Insurance (below 75 years as on 01/08/2023) providing life cover of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lac) and Group Medi-Claim Insurance (below 85 years as on 31/07/2023) coverage for Advocates and his/her spouse and two dependent children up to the age of 25 years, for a family floater sum assured of Rs. 5,00,000/-(Rupees Five Lac) will commence W.e.f 01.07.2023 at 12:00 AM. The web-portal is being re-opened w.e.f. 01.07.2023.”

All eligible and interested advocates, who had not applied under thescheme in the year 2023 (March/April, 2023), are required to get themselves mandatorily registered under this scheme, at the website www.cmaws.delhi,gov.in w.ef. 01.07.2023 to 15.07.2023 (till 1l1:59 P.M.)

Further, it has also been noticed by this department that a large number of such eligible advocates, who had applied under this scheme, on previous occasions (i.e. in Year 2020 & 2022) and who were a beneficiary under the said scheme, which was valid till 15.05.2023, have not again applied afresh through the above said portal.

In this regard, it is again clarified that it is mandatory for all such advocates, to apply afresh, who intend to continue to avail benefits under the scheme. It is reiterated that the benefits under the Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme would only be extended to the advocates, who apply for the scheme afresh for the year 2023-24 and are found eligible in terms of Cabinet Decision No. 2794 dated 18/ 12/2019. In case any such advocate, fails to apply for the year 2023-24, the benefits under the Group Term Insurance & Group Medi-claim Insurance under Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme, shall not be extended to such advocates.
